How to Compare Two Products With AI Before You Buy

A salesperson shows you two TVs, two phones, or two lift chairs, and the spec sheets look the same. AI can compare them in plain English and tell you which differences matter for how you will use them.

When this helps

Use this for appliances, phones, TVs, mattresses, cars, hearing products, or any purchase where the choices blur together. It also helps you compare service plans, such as two internet or phone plans.

Step by step

  1. Write down the exact names and model numbers of both products.
  2. Say how you will use the product, for example "mostly watching news and baseball."
  3. Send both to your AI app with the words below.
  4. Bring the AI's list of questions with you to the store.

Copy these words

“Compare the [product A] and the [product B] in plain English. I will use it mostly for [how you will use it]. Which differences matter for me, and what questions should I ask before I buy?”

Fill in anything in [brackets] with your own details, then send.

Good follow-up questions

Before you trust the answer

AI may not know the newest models or today's prices, and it can mix up details between similar products. Check prices and the return policy at the store or on the official website before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI know current prices?

Not reliably. Check the store or the maker's website for today's price.

Can AI compare more than two?

Yes. List three or four, and ask for a short table that compares them.

Can I use this in the store?

Yes. Open your AI app on your phone in the aisle and type or say the two model names.
