How to Use AI to Prepare Questions for Your Doctor

Doctor visits go fast, and the question you most wanted to ask often comes to mind in the parking lot. AI can help you turn your concerns into a short, clear list to bring with you.

When this helps

Use this before a checkup, a visit with a new specialist, a follow-up after a test, or a telehealth call. It also helps when a family member goes with you and you want to agree on what to ask.

Step by step

  1. Write down what is on your mind in your own words. Symptoms, worries, and changes since your last visit all count.
  2. Paste your notes into your AI app with the words below.
  3. Ask the AI to put the most important questions first.
  4. Print the list or keep it on your phone, and bring it to the visit.

Copy these words

“I have a doctor's appointment about [reason]. Here are my notes: [your notes]. Turn these into a short list of clear questions to ask my doctor, with the most important ones first.”

Fill in anything in [brackets] with your own details, then send.

Good follow-up questions

Before you trust the answer

AI helps you prepare questions. It does not diagnose you and it is not a substitute for your doctor. You do not need to give it your name, birth date, or insurance details. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or signs of a stroke, call 911 instead of asking AI.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to tell AI about my health?

Share only what you need to get help with your questions. Leave out your name, date of birth, and insurance numbers.

Can AI tell me what is wrong with me?

AI can explain general information, but only a doctor who examines you can diagnose you. Use AI to prepare, then ask your doctor.

How many questions should I bring?

Three to five is a good number for a regular visit. Put the most important one first in case time runs short.
